Rural/Metro is committed to improving the health and safety of our community through our extensive Community Education Outreach.
Rural/Metro employees visit schools, day care centers, festivals, community events, nursing homes and other organizations to provide health and safety education year-round.
Free Blood Pressure Screenings - Rural/Metro EMT's and paramedics often visit health fairs and community events to provide free blood pressure checks.
Child Car Seat Informational Stickers - Rural/Metro has partnered with East Tennessee Children's Hospital to provide free car seat stickers that list the child's name, address, parent's name, emergency numbers, and medications. The sticker is then placed directly on the car seat, so that information is immediately available in the event of an emergency.
CPR and First Aid Classes - Rural/Metro also provides CPR and First Aid classes to the general public as well as medical personnel.
Pride in Partnership - To improve communication with our partners, Rural/Metro personnel will visit health care providers to give an overview of Emergency Medical Services and Rural/Metro policies and procedures. The session includes an explanation of the care our crews provide, forms we are required to use and what to expect when we arrive. This session allows our partners to have an open dialogue with Rural/Metro and to work together for the benefit of the patients.
