Airport Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF)
Fire protection and suppression services are a core business for Rural/Metro. It’s a service we’ve been providing for more than 55 years. With Rural/Metro, airports are assured of experienced, highly-trained crews, and efficient, well-managed operations. Rural/Metro currently provides service for the Memphis FEDEX hub, one of the busiest freight airports in the country, with more than 450 flights in and out of Memphis every day.
Rural/Metro considers the specific needs of each airport to customize a program appropriate for each unique location. It’s our way of providing the best protection possible. For example, Rural/Metro provides search and rescue operations in addition to fire protection at the Sikorsky Flight Testing Center in West Palm Beach Florida.
Rural/Metro Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) personnel also can provide a variety of support enhancements, from airport driver-training programs to OSHA-compliant tenant training. These benefits are in addition to the customary response operations of emergency medical services, hazardous materials, and structural firefighting.
