Operation C.H.I.L.D.

Every year, thousands of children are seriously hurt in car accidents across Tennessee. When seconds count, emergency medical professionals need all the information they can get to take care of your child. Rural/Metro Ambulance wants to make sure that happens and all it takes is one small sticker.

“Operation C.H.I.L.D.” is a small fluorescent sticker about the size of a business card. It stands for Child Health Information Locator Device. On it, there’s a place for your child’s name, address, phone number, as well as emergency contact information and allergies. Then you simply place that sticker on the side of your child’s car seat. The bright color easily attracts the attention of all emergency medical professionals.

Rural/Metro Ambulance is dedicated to doing everything we can to keep you and your family safe. Paramedics and EMT’s say if the parent or driver of the car is unconscious, the information on the sticker can be extremely helpful. In fact, many are already looking for it now. “Operation C.H.I.L.D.” isn’t just something Rural/Metro Ambulance crews can use. Rural/Metro Ambulance is working with every emergency medical professional in Memphis and Shelby County, as well as surrounding counties to let them know to look for an “Operation C.H.I.L.D.” sticker.
